UNICEF Charity Run, organized by the Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK) and supported by the Hong Kong, China Association of Athletic Association (HKAAA) is not only an annual flagship fundraising event for UNICEF HK, but also the largest road-running charity event in Hong Kong, offering 15km Run, 10km Run, 5km Run and 3km Run (Youth, Wheelchair and Family) to individual runners and families. The 10km route is sanctioned by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and HKAAA and the results of 10km Run (Challenge) and 5km are accepted by HKAAA.
It will be held on 5 November 2023 (Sunday).

Starting the race early in the morning can prevent congesting the road traffic in the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Sunny Bay areas. In addition to ensuring the safety of participants, it will also allow nearby transportation services to resume normal operations as early as possible.
Participants can reach the venue by MTR or special bus services. Early train services for the Tung Chung Line and Disneyland Resort Line will be provided as per the schedule below. (Note: Early train services will not be available for other lines.)

The early Tung Chung Line train service will be maintained at a frequency of about 15 minutes in both directions until normal train service starts at about 6 a.m.; the train service frequency of the Disneyland Resort Line will be increased to every 5 minutes from 5:15 a.m. until noon for both directions.
Special bus service will be provided to pick up participants at the locations listed below on the event day.
- 1. Participants of the 10km Runs must take the first bus (Route a)
- 2. Participants of the 15km Run and 5km Run must take the second one (Route b)
- 3. Participants of the 3km Fun Runs may take the last bus (Route c)
This is a self-financed service. The bus fare is set at HK$40 each, runners can purchase special bus service tickets via enrolment system. It is also available at the Runner’s Pack collection venue and accept payment by Octopus Card only.
No parking space will be available for participants on the event day. Car parks in Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre will not be opened to the public during the event period. There are several temporary road closure and traffic diversion arrangements at Northern Lantau including the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Sunny Bay areas. Participants shall access the event venue by MTR or special bus services.
Participants can consider the car park nearby Sunny Bay Station and travel to event venue by public transport. Parking spaces are subject to availability.
Both are located at the Hong Kong Disneyland Coach Park.
Yes. In order to minimize the disruption to road traffic, there will be a time limit for each race. The time limit will be 2 hours for 15km Run; 1 hour and 30 minutes for the 10km Run; 45 minutes for the 5km Run; and 40 minutes for the 3km Fun Run (Youth, Wheelchair and Family). If you cannot finish the race within the time limit, a bus will be arranged to pick you up along the course and take you to the finishing point.
The aim of this measure is to avoid unnecessary congestions and allow participants to attain their best results. The start time of the 10km Run (Challenge) will be divided into the following sections:
- 1. 10km Run (Challenge): Personal best time in the last three years is less than 1 hour and 10 minutes (start time – 6:00 a.m.)
- 2. 10km Run (Group 1): Personal best time more than 1 hour, 10 minutes and 1 second (start time : 6:10 a.m.)
(Note: Participants with personal best time less than 1 hour and 10 minutes are free to choose which category to join.)
Participation in these races is by invitation only. The purpose of these particular races is to arouse awareness in corporate social responsibilities among business communities, especially in support of UNICEF’s mission of bringing positive changes to vulnerable children and their families in more than 190 countries and territories worldwide.

The enrolment is open now and will be closed on 6 October, 2023. Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. UNICEF HK reserves the rights to close the enrolment system when the race quota is full without prior notice. Announcement will be made on this event website when the quota is full.
We do not charge any enrolment fee but there is a minimum donation amount of HK$600 per participant for the 15km Run, 10km Run and 5km Run; HK$400 per participant for the 3km Fun Run (Youth and Wheelchair); and HK$2,400 per family for the 3km Fun Run (Family).
Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. UNICEF HK reserves the rights to close the enrolment system when the race quota is full without prior notice. Announcement will be made on this event website when the quota is full.
You will receive:
1. A runner’s pack including a race bib (attached with a timing chip), pins and a baggage tag
2. A runner’s tee: You will receive a runner’s tee as souvenir and you are encouraged to wear it on the event day to join the fever of running for children. We will try our best to give you the T-shirt that fits you but we cannot guarantee as it is subject to the availability of stock. Please note that T-shirts cannot be returned or exchanged. You may refer to the T-shirt size chart here.
3. En-route: Drinking water will be provided at designated water stations for 15 km Run, 10km, 5km and 3km Runs.
4. Services: Baggage storage at the start and first-aid service at the start, finish and along the course
5. Upon completion of the race: you will receive an e-certificate of completion with Gun Time and Personal Time in January 2024
No. You can only enrol upon settling the payment of the minimum fundraising amount but we welcome more donations for children after enrolment. If you register online, you can make additional donation here Donations made after 6 October 2023 will NOT be counted into the calculation for moody tiger cash coupon and Hong Kong Disneyland Park Tickets Redemption, but it will still be included into the calculation for Top Fundraiser Award.
Unfortunately, we will not accommodate any requests for changing race categories AFTER an enrolment is confirmed. Please make sure you choose the right race category BEFORE completing the enrolment.
You can add extra donations together with sponsors’ details through your Personal Fundraising Page . Please refer to your enrolment confirmation email for the access information of the page. You can then make the donation online and update the donation amount at the same time.
The Runner’s Pack can be collected from 20 to 22 October 2023, from 10:00am to 7:00pm. We will send you a Runner’s Pack Collection Email on or before 11 October 2023. Please bring the printed or electronic copy of the Runner’s Pack Collection Email to the venue (detail address to be confirm) for collection. You may authorize a person to collect the Runner’s Pack for you (see question 3). For details, please refer to the Runner’s Pack Collection Email.
If you have not received the Runner’s Pack Collection Email by 11 October 2023, please contact our staff at (852) 2833 6139 for assistance. Only those with the Runner’s Pack Collection Email can collect their Runner’s Packs.
Yes, you can authorize a person to collect the Runner’s Pack for you. Please complete the Letter of Authorization (attached to the Runner’s Pack Collection Email) and present the printed copy (with the QR code shown clearly) to our staff at the collection point.
No race bibs (attached with timing chips), pins, baggage tags or event t-shirts will be distributed on the event day.
Runner’s Packs will not be distributed by post so as to avoid losing or damaging any packs during postage.
Please wear appropriate sportswear and sport shoes. Do not forget to attach the race bib (attached with the timing chip) onto your chest before the race.
You MUST take the race bib (attached with the timing chip) and pins on the event day. If you would like to store your belongings with us, please bring along the baggage tag (included in your Runner’s Pack). Please note that NO storage bags will be provided in the baggage area on the event day. Please do not bring any valuable items. The Organizer is not responsible for the loss or damage of any baggage stored by us.

Participants can collect their baggage in the baggage area located at the Hong Kong Disneyland Coach Park.
No check-in process is required. Please wait for the instructions from the officials. Please deposit your baggage at baggage area upon arrival if necessary. The official will lead you to the queue-up area 10 minutes before the race.
Yes. According to the international standard, mileage signs will be displayed every 1 km along the route.
The water points will be located at the starting and finishing points, and approximately every 3 km along the course.
Drinking water will be provided at the water points.
The first-aid stations are located at every water station, as well as the starting and finishing points.
Mobile toilets will be placed approximately every 3 km along the route. You may also use the toilet facilities located at the starting and finishing point.
If you cannot complete the race within the time limit, a vehicle will be arranged to pick you up along the course and take you to the finishing point.
You will need to go to a water station and let the officials know that you intend to withdraw from the race. A vehicle will be arranged to pick you up at the water station and take you to the finishing point.
Please move from the finishing point to the rest/post-finishing point where you can meet your family & friends. There will be a designated area where you can gather and take pictures after the race. The Organizer will post up results of winners for each category at the venue.

UNICEF Charity Run is recognized by the Association of International Marathons & Distance Races (AIMS) and the Hong Kong, China Association of Athletics Affiliates, short form (HKAAA) . The10km (Challenge) is sanctioned by the Association of International Marathons & Distance Races (AIMS) and the Hong Kong, China Association of Athletics Affiliates, short form (HKAAA) . Results of the 10km Run (Challenge) and the 5km run are accepted by the Hong Kong, China Association of Athletics Affiliates, short form (HKAAA) .
Each participant must pass through all timing mats along the race course to record their race times. If no time(s) is/are recorded, the participant will be disqualified.
No result or certificate will be given if you do not follow the start time assigned to you.
Your race bib (attached with the timing chip) is non-transferable. You and the participant who run for you will both be disqualified for violating this regulation.
The Organiser will adopt timing chips to record participants’ results. According to the Association of International Marathons & Distance Races (AIMS), race results will be counted from the start of the gun time. Each participant will be given a race bib (attached with a timing chip). The timing chip is for personal reference only and does not need to be returned. On the event day, please be reminded to bring along your race bib (attached with a timing chip), and fix the race bib on your chest with pins. No race bib or timing chip will be reissued or distributed on the event day.
No. Please be reminded to bring along your race bib (attached with a timing chip). We will not reissue or distribute any race bibs or timing chips on the event day. If you have not brought race bib, the Organizer will not be able to record your race results. In addition, race bibs are non-transferrable.
No. Each of the timing chip, attached to its corresponding race bib, will have a unique number, which has been paired with participants’ race number. Please do not switch your race bib (attached with a timing chip) with other participants or let others run with your race bib (attached with a timing chip), or else, both of you will be disqualified.
You can keep the race bib as a souvenir but you will NOT be able to use the same race bib in other races.
Yes, It is applicable for the 10km Run only.
According to the race regulations, your result will not be recorded and no certificate of completion will be provided if you cannot finish within the time limit.
No. Race categories are non-transferable and therefore, you will not get the result and the certificate of completion.
An official time (gun time) refers to the time from the initial pistol shot to the time when you cross the finishing line. A chip time (net time) refers from the time you cross the starting mats at the starting line to the time when you cross the finishing mats at the finishing line.
Prizes are presented according to the official time (gun time). Net time is for reference only.
Only those who are officially registered and given a race bib can participate in the race. The officials will keep all non-participants from the course.
No. No pets or any form of wheel-run object, e.g. wheelchairs (except designed wheelchairs for the wheelchair events approved by the Organizer), bicycles, skates, push carts, shoes with built-in or attached rollers, etc. are allowed on the course.
Yes. They are welcome to cheer for you at a designated area near the finishing point.
The entire route of the race will be completely closed to public vehicles. A lane will be allocated for emergency purposes and accessed by ambulances, police cars and official cars. Therefore, it is safe as long as participants follow the official route.
No. Aerial photography is not allowed at the event center and along the route.
Yes. The Organizer will cover personal accident insurance for all participants within designated area and route on the event day, participants must follow the instructions given by the Organizer during the event. We recommend all participants to check their health condition by consulting qualified medical practitioners before enrolment while all participants will be responsible for bearing their own risks during the event. All participants can arrange an additional personal accident insurance at their own cost if needed.
