Re-scheduling UNICEF Charity Run to 19 March 2017

Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF announced that UNICEF Charity Run was expected to be re-scheduled to 19 March 2017 at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Sunny Bay. The event is in place of the one cancelled last November due to adverse weather and the planning of the details is now at its final stage. 
 
All participants registered for the race in 2016 are welcomed to join the race with race number bib attached with timing chip they have on hand. No further registration is required. Further details will be sent to participants via email and SMS by batch. Participants can also refer to announcements on the event website https://run.unicef.org.hk. Q1. I have already registered for UNICEF Charity Run 2016, how can I join the rescheduled race?
A1.  All runners registered for the race in 2016 are welcomed to join the race with the race number bib (attached with timing chip) they have already received. No further registration is required. Further details have also been sent to participants via email and SMS. Participants can also refer to announcements on the event website https://run.unicef.org.hk. Q2. Can I use my existing UNICEF Charity Run 2016 special bus service ticket for the rescheduled race day?
A2. Yes, you can reuse the UNICEF Charity Run 2016 special bus service ticket on the rescheduled race day.
 
Q3. What happens if I have lost my race number bib with timing chip and baggage tag?
A3. Please contact us at (852) 2833 6139 on or before 17 February 2017 for special arrangement to pick up replacement bib and luggage tag. New race number bib (attached with timing chip) and baggage tag will not be distributed on the event day.
 
Q4. What happens if I lost the Charity Run 2016 special bus service ticket? Can I buy special bus service ticket now?
A4.   Please visit Unit A, 12/F, Poryen Building, 478 Castle Peak Road, Cheung Sha Wan during office hour: Monday to Sunday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. from 6 to 18 March 2017 to obtain replacement ticket or purchase ticket. The nearest MTR station will be Lai Chi Kok. NO bus ticket can be purchased at the pick-up locations on the event day. Q5. What happens if I have lost my souvenir t-shirts?
A5. All Charity Run 2016 souvenir t-shirts have been distributed. 
 
Q6. Can I validate the timing chip on my race number bib before the rescheduled event?
A6. Participants are encouraged to safeguard their bib attached with a timing chip with great care. Each timing chip is designed with certain degree of resilience provided it is not being folded, stamped on or removed from the bib. If any participants wish to confirm the validity of their timing chips, please bring along the bib & timing chip and visit Unit A, 12/F, Poryen Building, 478 Castle Peak Road, Cheung Sha Wan from 6 to 18 March during office hour: 1000 – 1800 for verification.
 
Q7. What is the Organizer’s arrangement if enrolled runners are unable to participate in the rescheduled race event?
A7. The Organizer has been actively working with various government departments and partners in the past few weeks for holding a replacement event at Hong Kong Disneyland at 19 March 2017. The event is in place of the one cancelled last November due to adverse weather and the planning of the details is now at its final stage.

Rescheduling the event requires the support from multiple working partners and government departments, and the Organizer expresses sincere apologizes to those who are unable to participate in the rescheduled event.

Q9. Can I get a refund if I cannot participate in the rescheduled race?
A9. We deeply appreciate participants’ and donors’ support to the UNICEF Charity Run and UNICEF’s work. Donations raised from UNICEF Charity Run will be used to support UNICEF’s work to promote the elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV in 150 developing countries. 
 
According to the terms and conditions of the application, all enrolment donations will not be refunded should the event be cancelled due to inclement weather and/ or circumstances beyond the control of the Organizer. 
 
Participants who have applied for special bus service will receive a refund for the bus fare. Runners will have to present their bus tickets (original copy) and visit Unit A, 12/F, Poryen Building, 478 Castle Peak Road, Cheung Sha Wan from 6 to 18 March during office hour: 10 a.m. –  6 p.m. to  refund. If you have lost your ticket, please contact us at (852) 2833 6139. 
 
Q10. Can I change to a different race?
A8. Unfortunately you cannot switch to another race category. The rescheduled event is a replacement  for the one cancelled on Sunday 27 November 2016 and is, therefore, catered to individual runners who have successfully signed up for UNICEF Charity Run 2016 only. The quota for each category is full.
 
Q11. Can I make a new enrolment for the rescheduled race event?
A11. Unfortunately no as this rescheduled event is a replacement event for the one cancelled on Sunday 27 November 2016 and is, therefore, catered to individual runners who have successfully signed up for UNICEF Charity Run 2016 only. The scheduled event will not be open to the public who haven’t signed up for the original event.  
 
Q12. Can I still make a donation or raise funds
Yes, participants are welcomed to raise funds via his/her Personal Fundraising Page to support UNICEF's 'Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS' global campaign. 
 
Q13. Would Hong Kong Disneyland Resort continue to provide hotel offer exclusively for participants of the UNICEF Charity Run 2016?
A13. Participants will receive a 30% off discount on the prevailing hotel room rate at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel or Disney's Hollywood Hotel with check-in dates from 18 to 20 March 2017.
